Blue Can

Published on

Something calls to him,

Sitting in our fridge.

“It’s been a long day”

Now time to unhitch.

Your reality is skewed, it’s all a fantasy

When you look in the mirror, do you see what I see?

One of my earliest memories

Sitting on the kitchen counter

The temptation, can fading away be that easy?

One sip, your mind is devoured

I know better than to ask,

Watch in silence

You may as well carry a flask

Pay attention to me, I’m fighting

Fighting for your love, for you to be my number one fan

But I understand, nothing’s more important than your cold blue can.
